Coated Folio for iPad Pro
The Woolnut Coated Folio for iPad Pro is made well with premium materials that are environmentally friendly. Aside from the grey felt outline on the exterior of the case, the Coated Folio has a great look to it. There is plenty of room for the iPad and its accessories. The case makes travel with the iPad Pro worry-free. The price is a bit higher in comparison to similar products.

Coated Folio is made with impressive materials and protects the iPad well.
I recently had the pleasure to try out the Woolnut Coated Folio for my iPad Pro. Before the Coated Folio, I didn’t have anything that allowed me to travel safely with both my iPad Pro and its Magic Keyboard. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the Coated Folio worked for me. Before I share my user experience, here are some techs and specifications about the folio.
Details
The Woolnut Coated Folio for iPad Pro is a slim, durable case that is tailor-made to fit the 12.9” iPad Pro (3rd-5th gen). The folio can fit the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil along with the iPad. This folio is a protective, waterproof shell that is made with Matte Polyurethane (PVC and PFC-free). The inside of the folio is made with 100% recycled polyester (PET) felt and the zipper is YKK’s METALUXE, which is made with plastic, but has a metallic finish. The folio is available in three colors – black, green, and blue.

USER EXPERIENCE
I am impressed with every aspect of the Woolnut coated folio including the overall packaging. I am not one that is easily impressed by boxes, but opening the box was a nice experience. The box is large, sturdy, and provides a safe shipping experience for the folio. The box easily slides in and out of the box cover. Inside the box, you will find a Woolnut branded dust bag with the coated folio inside.
At first glance, I thought the Coated Folio would be big and bulky to carry. I also made the assumption that I would have to remove the magic keyboard prior to storing my iPad. On both counts, I was wrong. The outside of the Coated Folio is made of a Matte Polyurethane material. I love that the material is free of PVCs (polyvinyl chloride) and PFCs (perfluorinated chemicals).
While PVC and PFC can help with water resistance, I genuinely appreciate the use of materials that are more environmentally friendly. When I unzipped the folio, I noticed the gray interior. The interior felt a bit rough to the touch and that was a bit unexpected. However, I was happy to learn that this material was made of 100% recycled polyester felt.
I was able to easily store my iPad Pro inside of the folio without removing the Magic Keyboard. This was a sigh of relief, because I usually struggle to remove the magic keyboard. I also liked that I could leave the Apple Pencil attached to the iPad to charge or I could store it with the pencil holder.
My only complaint is that I do not like the gray polyester felt seen on the outside edges of the folio. The felt is seen on the sides opposite of the zipper. To me, this appears to cheapen the look of the folio. I feel like it appears to be unfinished. The Woolnut Coated Folio is a higher end product and I think that would be better reflected if I could not see the gray felt.
CONCLUSION
To recap, I do like the Coated Folio. I feel that Woolnut products live up to their reputation and the Woolnut name. I will continue to use the Coated Folio for travel. The overall quality of the product is nice.
