Extra-long arm great for larger TVs.
Most of the TVs in our house have been mounted to the wall. There is only one, in fact, that wasn’t mounted to the wall — the one in our bedroom. It’s a 65-inch flat-screen TV that has moved from our living room to my office, and now, it takes up residence in our master bedroom. Until recently, the TV has simply rested on top of an old dresser. After moving our bed to a different wall, we decided to mount the TV on the wall. In order to do that, we needed to get a new mount and we settled on the Long Arm TV Wall Bracket Mount from PUTORSEN. It’s a full-motion TV wall mount that fits most TVs (43-80 inches).
The mount is a tilting arm that extends out as far as 40 inches from its central position without being bent. The mount can hold up to 110 pounds and features a VESA mount pattern 800 x 400 mm. The mount allows TVs to be adjusted freely and has a tilt range between 5º and 15º down, and has a 90º swivel to both the left and right. The mount is made of high-quality steel and features a large wall plate that helps to perfectly spread out the weight load. The mount itself weighs 29.6 pounds and measures 38 x 14.52 x 3.9 inches.
This long arm TV wall mount was a good solution to our bedroom TV problem. We knew it would be mounted on a wall that was opposite from our bed and so it would end up being farther away from our bed. Therefore, the longer extension arm was a good option for us so that we didn’t have to strain our necks while watching TV in bed.
Since this isn’t the first TV I’ve mounted in our house, I can tell you that the mounting process was pretty standard. The backplate gets mounted to the wall either by screwing the screws into the studs in the walls or by using the drywall anchors that are provided. I was able to find the studs in our wall and so I just used that method. There is a paper guide included, which helps provide a guide for drilling.
One of the things I didn’t like was that the entire mount was essentially one piece. When I’ve mounted other TVs to the wall using articulating mounts like this one, the mount usually comes apart in the middle so that you can easily attach the backplate to the wall without needing assistance. Since that wasn’t the case with this mount, I had to awkwardly position the extended mount on my shoulder as I tightened bolts into the wall. It worked, but it wasn’t the easiest process. Another issue I had with it was the main part of the mount that holds the TV was not level. I checked the mounting plate on the wall several times and it was, but the extension where the TV hangs was not — and there was no way to fix that. I ended up having to adjust how the TV was hung, which I wasn’t a fan of.
As far as performance goes, the mount does a good job of holding the TV. It does feel secure and moving it away from the wall is a smooth, fluid motion. We’ve really enjoyed having the TV on the wall now that we’ve moved the furniture around in our room. One of the best things about it is that we’ve been able to mount our streaming devices to the back of the TV which helped clean up a lot of cable clutter, too. The cost of the mount is pretty standard for mounts that hold TVs of this size. Overall, I’ve been happy with the mount and would recommend it to others.
