Imperial Motion NOMAD 27L Backpack
Despite the high-quality materials used to make this bag, I found little functionality in it. The backpack seems overly complicated when it comes to storing items inside it and there is no method of organizing anything.

Backpack has a large capacity, but little function.
Prior to the pandemic, my kids and I would travel to Florida multiple times a year to see my family and hit up the theme parks. I am used to carrying larger than the average backpack through the parks filled with water bottles, snacks, medical supplies, and other essential items.
When we fly, my backpack is generally loaded with medical supplies, multiple electronics (laptops/phones), and notebooks which grant me the ability to continue working remotely. I usually stuff my purse inside of the backpack as there are plenty of pockets and spots for storage. I have quick and easy access to my insulin pump, my id, and hand sanitizer. Packing light is a term that I am unfamiliar with.

USER EXPERIENCE
At first glance, I thought the Nomad 27L Backpack was going to be a cool versatile backpack that would be perfect for traveling. I loved the idea of being able to transform the backpack into a handbag or satchel. Then I noticed the lack of inner pockets and zippers. I tried to remain optimistic, the lack of pockets is not a new concept to me.
I unhooked all the buckles as I wanted to see how easy it would be to switch back and forth between backpack/satchel. Then I realized this was a huge mistake. I could not figure out how to put it back together in backpack mode. Fortunately, a friend was able to help me, but a backpack should not be that complicated.
I did not feel confident placing my MacBook in the laptop compartment. It just felt awkward. I cannot see it being useful when camping, in a theme park, or in a situation where you needed to carry and access a variety of items. My biggest issue with the satchel mode is the straps that hang down from the underside of the bag.
The backpack does have some features that I did like. For example, I like the size of the bag, the adjustable sternum strap, the waterproof material, and the D-rings on the shoulder straps. Surprisingly, I do prefer this bag in satchel mode.
CONCLUSION
I do think that this backpack would be great for a day at the beach to hold towels and water shoes or a quick overnight bag. However, as a functional backpack, it just isn’t practical.
